My Flavor Of The Day
Thursday represents the final turn, into the straightaway towards the weekend. And what better way to make a power-move on a straightaway, than with a dashing racing chronograph?
Enter the Szanto, Danny Sullivan "Icon Series", Racing Chronograph Mod. There are two things I love about my choice today. First, the mod was intentionally done in a color choice, to pay tribute to the Gulf-Racing team. The mix of orange, light and dark blues has been the signature color of many iconic watch brands through the years; and admittedly, I'm pretty much much a sucker for the color scheme. Second, being a unique mod, it's a true 1 of 1 timepiece. And in watch collecting circles, it doesn't get any more rare, than a custom, one-of timepiece.
My decision to incorporate the Straton, non-round, 3-hole racing strap, was a good one, as I feel it really completes the look and racing theme of the timepiece. Further playing-up the Gulf-Racing theme, is the addition of a custom-made bracelet, crafted by Beads By Gonzo, which has my Wrist-Game today, poised to take the checkered flag!
