What's My Wrist-Wear Choice for Today?
My Flavor of the Day

My Friday choice of wrist-wear is my new, September subscription watch from Watch Gang, the Moto-Time, Hornet Chronograph. As a refresher, the folks at Watch Gang promise that they will send you a watch each month that is worth, up to, 5 times your monthly subscription cost.
Like I've stated before, retail prices, especially for online sourced products, are arbitrary for the most point, as anyone or any brand can assign a value cost for the items they are producing. For me, it's as simple as, for my current monthly subscription price of $99, does the watch I receive, compare to other watches I have purchased, at retail, for the $99 price point of my monthly subscription cost. In no way do I expect to receive a $500 dollar watch each month, for my $99 monthly subscription price. My expectation is that the watch I receive will be at least comparable to the quality of a $99.00 watch, if it meets that criteria, I'm satisfied. Style match, on the other hand, is a completely different matter.
So, how did Watch Gang do this month? While the watch doesn't really match my usual style of sport watch, diver or pilot, I think it will serve as a decent beater, and is dressy enough to wear with a suit if needed; the chronograph does try to give the watch a bit of a sport look. The watch has a sapphire crystal, Seiko quartz chronograph movement, and nice mix and contrast of brushed and polished surfaces along the case, bezel, and bracelet.
Overall, I'd say the watch quality matches the $99 price point of my subscription, so we'll put this into the category of another "push" for September.
