What's my wrist-wear choice for today?
My Flavor Of The Day

Closing-out the weekend, and St. Patty's Day, realizing that out of all the timepieces I own, I don't own any with a stitch of green in them. So the next best thing, I chose something with a springtime vibe; enter the Oris Aquis, Great Barrier Reef, Limited Edition II.
I love this Oris, because it offers tremendous wrist presence, with a case diameter clocking-in at 46 mm. While my sweet spot these days, regarding case size, is between 43 mm and 45 mm, I do still occasionally enjoy wearing a substantial block of steel on the wrist, that tickles the 50 mm mark; big and bold!
I also enjoy the rather unconventional day / date configuration that Oris opted to use for this model. This Aquis offers a very unique, day / date presentation, displaying the day of the week on an inner track, and date at the 6 o'clock position. The use of yellow to highlight the day and date, represents another break from traditional dive watch philosophy, but is used to compliment the yellow accents, smartly and sparingly used within the dial. The alternate yellow strap was incorporated to further enhance the yellow accents, and while bold, doesn't seem overdone.
Adding to the parade of yellow, is a custom, beaded bracelet, crafted and designed by Beads By Gonzo, which has me thinking warmer thoughts, whenever I glance down at my wrist.
