My Flavor Of The Day

Starting the week off, with a timepiece that has slowly grown on me over time, in the form of the Motor-Time, Hornet Chronograph. When I first received this timepiece, admittedly I wasn't a big fan of the X design through the chronograph sub-dials. To me, this design accent seemed to be an unnecessary addition, that detracted from the dial aesthetics of the timepiece. Over-time though, I've learned to appreciate the unique look of the dial and sub-dial configuration; and after-all, I do gravitate to uniquely-styled timepieces. A fellow forum member, and gear-head, recently pointed out to me, that the "X" design on the dial, is meant to replicate the cross-member suspension in a race car, so the design engineering makes perfect sense to me now, given that the Hornet is a sport / racing chronograph.
Even though I'm not usually a fan of goldtone, or gold accents within my timepieces, I do like the way the gold accents play against the white dial of the Hornet. The case diameter of 46mm affords this timepiece a bold look and presence on the wrist. Complimenting this piece today, with a Yak Bone, copper-infused, bracelet, further accenting the gold-tones within the dial.
