Watch of the day

What's my wrist-wear choice for today?

My Flavor Of The Day

Aragon, Divemaster II, Automatic

Closing-out my weekend, with the Aragon, Divemaster II, Automatic diver. The original Divemaster was a steady, workhorse model for the Aragon brand. So when the decision was made to do a full makeover of the original design, I'm sure many fans of Aragon took pause; after all, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. But Master Wing Liang of Aragon, is always looking for ways to move his brand forward. And that means offering models that have a functional, yet distinct design look.

The Divemaster 2.0 is a fantastic update on a popular Aragon model. It's like your favorite restaurant received a makeover, yet still offers all the same fantastic dishes that you've come to love. The build has been revamped from head-to-toe. About the only item that remains largely unchanged from the original, is the bracelet, but that's about it. The case, bezel, dial, hands, and index markers received face-lifts, ranging from subtle to dramatic, but it all works for the better. The piano Black dial almost looks like liquid glass, and the hour / minute hands definitely gives this piece a very unique look; much different than the standard submariner diver. This 45mm version is also much easier to wear on the wrist than my previous 50mm version. But fear not, Wing is still manufacturing the 50mm variant, for those that love the additional wrist presence.

Enhancing the subtle pop of red in the dial, with a blood Red and Black, custom bracelet, created by Beads By Gonzo.
