Saturday marks the 50th Anniversary of the Moon landing. And there was really no other logical choice for me today, other than wearing the Bulova, Lunar Pilot - Special Edition. While this particular model specifically commemorates the Apollo 15 mission, there's no doubting the historical significance of the Bulova brand, and the part the brand played in the early days of the U.S. space race. And in lieu of having a few thousand dollars to plunk down on the "other" Moonwatch, the Lunar Pilot is more than adequate.
This special edition, comes with the leather strap pictured, and an alternate NATO strap, which has the date of the Apollo 15 mission, as a leather patch, stitched onto the strap; a really nice touch. An exceptionally clean chronograph dial and tachymeter scale, assisted by the use of white index markers and numerals, against a jet black dial.
Complementing the Lunar Pilot today, and further playing-on the "space rock" theme, is a large gauge, lava rock bracelet, designed by Aurum Brothers, firmly placing my Wrist-Game status to out of this world!
