Watch of the day (WOTD)
What's my wrist-wear choice for today?
My Flavor Of The Day
My Monday WOTD, is the Bulova, Lunar Pilot, Special Edition. This timepiece is quickly approaching iconic status among watch collectors, and it's easy to see why. The "other" moon-watch, has one of the cleanest dial presentations going, with the stark, White index markers, against the matte Black dial, providing supreme clarity; you'd expect nothing less from a pilot watch.
I love the frosted case, preferring it over the the polished case I've seen on some other variations of this model. I feel that the bead-blasted case gives this piece a more casual vibe, accentuating the sport look. The special edition comes with the carbon-fiber look, leather strap (pictured), as well as a special NATO strap, that details the date of mission, on a leather placard.
The caseback also bears the inscription of the date of mission as well, a nice added detail. The Bulova Archive series, reviving some of the brands most iconic models of the past, has been a real hit, in my opinion.
I guess it's a pilot / space related them for the second time, in three days. Serving as wing man for the Lunar Pilot today, is a custom-made bracelet, designed by Beads By Gonzo.
