My Flavor Of The Day
It's Tsikolia Saturday, and Sickolia, as the brand name is pronounced, describes the Tsikolia, GT40 - Racing Chronograph, Limited Edition perfectly; this watch is sick, in a good way!
When I first laid eyes on this timepiece, I knew immediately I had to add the GT40 to my collection. Racing chronographs play heavily within my collection, edged-out slightly by Pilot Watches, with Divers ruling the roost; but the GT40 shouts racer to the rafters! It definitely helps that this timepiece embodies, and pays tribute to design aspects of the Ford GT40 race car; the light Blue chapter ring, and Orange-centered racing stripes, being a dead giveaway.
I love that the GT40 isn't an off-the-shelf, cookie-cutter design, as chronograph timepieces tend to blend-in with the masses, but this this piece is as unique as they come. Tsikolia did the Gulf Racing Team proud with this piece, even though this isn't a licensed design, the only thing missing is the Gulf logo.
