What's my wrist-wear choice for today?
My Flavor Of The Day
My Tuesday selection, is the very solid, German Made brand in the Laco, Atlantic - Chronograph. This piece represents the perfect Type A dial, with the inclusion of right-sized chronograph registers, affording a perfect balance and dial presentation. Many chronograph dials come-off as extremely busy, which can be a real distraction. But this Laco might have the most perfectly proportioned index markers and registers I've ever seen.
Many pilot watches lean to the larger case diameters, like many of the "Big Pilot" variations available, however, the Laco Atlantic comes in at a universally wearable 42mm, which should satisfy the majority of collectors.
The only downside to this timepiece, was the nylon, Olive Green, NATO strap that this piece originally shipped on. The strap wasn't the best quality, and really cheapened the overall look of the timepiece. That situation was easily rectified, by the addition of the Geckota, vintage, Flieger strap, giving this piece the quality look it deserves.
Pairing the Laco today, with a Soho bracelet, designed by Dorsal Bracelet Company, effectively capturing the Brown tones of the vintage-style strap.
