Arguably, there is no timepiece more iconic the the Omega Moonwatch. And there have been many brands that have tried their best, yet failed to capture the refined, sporty dynamics of the Speedmaster. Enter the Bulova, Lunar Pilot, Special Edition, and my watch of the day choice for Thursday, a timepiece that may have finally captured the essence of the "Moonwatch", at a far more palatable price point.
I love timepieces that reveal different design characteristics with each wearing. And such is the case with the Lunar Pilot, as today, I just happened to notice that the dial of this timepiece is comprised of 3 levels, which creates incredible dial depth. Add the stark white numerals against the jet-black dial, frosted case, and carbon-fiber look strap, and you've got a timepiece that presents itself extremely well on the wrist, making this a timepiece worthy of the "special edition" moniker.
