Watch of the day (WOTD)
What's my wrist-wear choice for today?
My Flavor Of The Day
My Friday WOTD, is the Spinnaker, Hull - California, Tactical Edition, and it was great to get reacquainted with the beautiful timepiece. I've been a big fan of the Spinnaker brand, because they stay in their lane, and continue to do what they do well, create dive watches, and dive look timepieces, with a vintage influence.
As I've continued to broaden my watch collecting tastes, I parted ways with many of my Spinnaker timepieces, but the Hull - California still remains. I've had this piece up for sale consideration a few times, but I'm glad that this piece has hung around. Now that it appears Spinnaker only produced this timepiece in very limited quantities, the tactical, Hull - California may have just reached status level, keeper.
The California dial (mix of Arabic and Roman numerals) was never something I got overly excited about in the past. However, the Cali dial on this Hull is spectacular! The heavily textured, resin dial, affords the perfect backdrop and frame, to the individually applied index markers, who's tone creates a serious POP against the dial, providing an almost 3-D effect; a cool dial by any measure.
A vintage dive look, in a tactical package, deserves an accessory to match. The Anchor, rope bracelet, designed by Dorsal Bracelet Company, in color Obsidian, provides the perfect complement, matching the nautical theme of the timepiece as well.
