My Monday watch-of-the-day, epitomizes affordability, and bang-for-the-buck, in the Parnis, Big Pilot Mechanical, with Sterile dial.
The flieger / pilot look is my second favorite category of watch, behind divers. There just something I like about the dial presentation, dial clarity, and wide variation of vintage strap choices available with pilot watches. And to find a classic, vintage, flieger look, in a mechanical timepiece, for well under $100 USD, is a steal! For the price, I fully expected the need to switch-out the strap, to a more high-quality strap, but there was no need; the stock strap is that good.
There something about the allure of a mechanical timepiece, and this Parnis doesn't disappoint, as the sweep of the constant-running second-hand, at the 9 o'clock position, is super smooth. The mechanical, Asian 6497 movement is put on display, with the addition of an exhibition caseback.
Pairing this gorgeous flieger timepiece today, with a Tiger's-Eye bracelet, which perfectly complements the Brown and Black tones within this timepiece, giving my Wrist-Game today, Flying Ace status.
