Keeping it vintage for Thursday, as my selection today, is the Omega, Geneve - Dynamic, with steel, racing dial. I've definitely been fortunate, since beginning to dip my toes into the vintage watch market, acquiring some incredibly preserved, and iconic brands.
My taste in style had been gravitating towards vintage over the past 5 to 6 years or so. My only hesitation, the smallish size of many of the vintage cases. But I felt in order to have a well rounded view of the watch collecting hobby, I needed to feel, first-hand, some of the fine examples of vintage timepieces, in order to gain an appreciation of the past, and how those watch designs had influence on modern-day horology.
This Omega, Geneve - Dynamic is just such an example of the aforementioned. The dial colors, case, and bracelet screams 70's vintage! Never one to search for affirmation with my daily watch selections, this timepiece gets the most ooohs, and aaahs by far, than any other timepiece within my current stable; people know what they like. The quality and workmanship of this vintage, luxury piece is undeniable, as the timekeeping of this movement is still spot-on, after over 30 years, truly remarkable.
