Watch of the day (WOTD)

What's my wrist-wear choice for today?

My Flavor Of The Day

Vanguard, Victorville Pilot

Every watch collection has that sleeper timepiece or sleepers, that seem to fly under the radar. Such is the case with my Friday WOTD choice, the Vanguard Automatic, Victorville - Pilot.

Flying under the radar, for a Pilot, is usually a prerequisite, but on it's surface, there's nothing in particular that immediately jumps out at you with the Victorville. Upon closer inspection, however, this timepiece holds some very nice design aspects, that makes this piece a true flying ace. Start first with the Gunmetal, PVD finish on the case. The case color, a subtle contrast to the matte Black dial, with the clever utilization of Sand coloring on the index markers and hands, giving this dial a magnificent presentation.

Pilot watches are supposed to be simplistic in their form, design, and function, with no unnecessary clutter to allow for quick and easy readability, a necessity for pilots of the bygone era.

Pairing the Victorville - Pilot, with a Hammerhead, rope bracelet, designed by Dorsal Bracelet Company. The rope and charm, providing a perfect complement to the prominent dial colors within this timepiece.
