Watch of the day (WOTD)

What's my wrist-wear choice for today?

My Flavor Of The Day

WOTD wrist-shot of the 1970, vintage, King Seiko. Paired with a Dorsal Bracelet Co., beaded bracelet, in color Pose.
Vintage King Seiko, Circa 1970

Well it's Saturday, and today, I'll make it a Seiko Saturday, taking the vintage King Seiko out for a spin. I was pretty sure that I would enjoy wearing this vintage beauty, but even I must admit, that this King Seiko completely exceeded my expectations. So much so, it has quelled, what was a growing interest in obtaining a modern, Spring Drive, Grand Seiko timepiece; at least if only temporarily.

The lines on the case and bracelet of this timepiece are perfect, with the mix of polished and brushed surfaces logically thought-out, to give a certain intentional flow-in-design; this makes for an striking presentation on the wrist.

I've definitely struck gold with my last two vintage acquisitions, and this King Seiko definitely has me on the hunt for my next. The true workmanship is realized, when you consider the movement powering this timepiece, is nearly 50 years old, and still runs spot-on; many modern-day watch manufacturers would be happy to see their watches and movements last 5 to 15 years.

Pairing the King today, with a beaded bracelet, crafted by Dorsal Bracelet Company, in color variant Pose. An accessory proving to be a worthy, noble subject of the King.
