Tuesday, finds the modded, Vostok Amphibian, Radio Room, back on my wrist. The dial on this piece has such a striking look, with the Red, 15-minute radio silence designations, seemingly jumping off the dial.
Modders are true watch artisans, and you can clearly see this in the way the various color contrasts are used, giving this entire timepiece an amazing presentation and pop on the wrist. A world-time insert isn't something that is applicable, or even useful on a diver, but for this mod, it's the perfect addition. I think that's the true purpose of a mod, to not only give a watch a different look, but a change in personality as well.
This modded Vostok is one of those pieces within my collection, that deserves far more wrist-time than it currently receives, but that just makes reacquainting with this piece, that much sweeter.
