Watch of the day (WOTD)

What's my wrist-wear choice for today?

My Flavor Of The Day

Gruppo Gamma, Divemaster 500

It's Monday, and that means Blue Monday in the watch world. And this Monday is Bluer than most, as it's a return back to the grind, coming behind a rare three day weekend for me. Helping me chase those work Blues away, is the Gruppo Gamma, Divemaster 500.

The Divemaster exhibits perfect balance on the wrist. With a case size of 44mm, the Divemaster offers plenty of wrist presence, without feeling over-sized or clunky. The sandwich dial, and Blue lume on this timepiece is nothing short of spectacular.

Not completely sold on the OEM canvas strap, as while it serves as a great color complement to the dial and bezel of this piece, it's a bit stiff at the onset. So, the wear of the strap isn't quite as comfortable as other textile straps I've previously worn, but perhaps it will become more pliable with additional wear. The Divemaster 500 is a strap monster, so there will be plenty of aftermarket strap options available, to mix and match, and enhance the look of the Divemaster.

Pairing this Blue-dialed beauty today, with a different style of bracelet, an infusion of stainless steel and textile materials, in a bangle form. The bracelet wears very well, and affords the perfect complement to the Divemaster 500.
