Watch of the day (WOTD)
What's my wrist-wear choice for today?
My Flavor Of The Day

For Sunday, my WOTD is the antithesis of the Samsung Galaxy smart watch from Saturday, as I'm breaking-out my Sunday best, in the form of the Seiko Japan, King Seiko, circa 1970! This watch marks the 2nd acquisition to my small, but growing vintage collection. If my Omega, Geneve - Dynamic was a homerun, I guess I can consider this King Seiko a Grand Slam!
I always say that watches, and the hobby of watch collecting offers a true learning experience (as long as you're willing to do the research). It was great learning about the King Seiko brand, and competing Seiko Japan factories, back in the 1970's through early 2000's, that designed and manufactured the Grand Seiko and King Seiko models. Prior to conducting that research, I had no idea about the two, competing Seiko Japan factories, and little, if any knowledge, of the King Seiko brand itself.
This vintage King Seiko follows all of the classic, case and bracelet design elements, that are a requisite to carry the Grand / King Seiko name. I lucked-up once again, finding this vintage example in excellent condition. My vintage wing, while still a work in progress, is coming along very nicely; slow and steady wins the race. For now, this vintage King Seiko, satisfies my thirst, to eventually acquire my first, Spring-Drive, Grand Seiko.
