Watch of the day (WOTD)

What's my wrist-wear choice for today?

Sturmanski, Mars - Cosmonaut Trainer, Limited Edition

My Mondays are normally reserved for Blue Monday, when I sport one of my timepieces with a Blue dial or Blue strap. I definitely had to make an exception today, for the Sturmanski, Mars - Cosmonaut Trainer. The Mars timepiece is a magnificently designed watch, with absolutely nothing about the timepiece looking like an homage, to any watch design, past or present.

The star of this watch is the floating dial. The chapter ring and dial seemingly separated by a moat, for lack of a better term; the design still affords a clear view of the chapter ring. The three points on the dial and bezel, and Orange, baked enamel trim, are meant to replicate the boosters of a Soyuz Rocket. And with this timepiece being the official Cosmonaut training watch, for the Russian Space program, it just adds to the cool factor.

With a 47mm case diameter, the Mars represents the top-end of my case diameter to wrist size comfort level, though I would never rule-out pieces in the 50mm range. The rubber strap does afford a high level of comfort on the wrist, even given the larger-than-average case size.

An out-of-this-world timepiece, deserves an equally stellar accessory. The custom-crafted bracelet, designed by Beads By Gonzo, is complementary wrist-wear, making my Wrist-Game today, a look made for the celestial heavens!
