Watch of the day (WOTD)

What's my wrist-wear choice for today?

My Flavor Of The Day

Gruppo Gamma, Divemaster 500

It's Thursday, and on the downside of the work week, looking forward to the weekend. Placing my mind in a cheery mood, is the Gruppo Gamma, Divemaster 500. This timepiece is an absolute beauty, with the Blue dial and Blue bezel simply mesmerizing. The case design and lugs affords this timepiece perfect balance on the wrist.

Gradient dials are the new "it" thing in watch design, and some dial treatments are definitely heads-and-shoulders above others. But without a doubt, the dial on the Divemaster 500, is one of the best I've seen. I have found myself warming up more, to the canvas strap on the piece, with each wearing. The canvas strap was a bit less pliable than some other strap materials, and that lends to a bit of a comfort sacrifice, but it doesn't take away from the the fantastic presentation the Divemaster has, while on the wrist.

For this beautiful shade of Blue on the Divemaster, I had to choose an equally striking Blue for my pairing accessory. For that, I chose one of my Dorsal Bracelet Company, Glowing Gone bracelets, with the special, electric Blue color, meant to replicate one of the color shades, that color reefs will change, when they are in the process of dying. Luckily, Coral Alive Foundation and Dorsal Bracelet Co. collaborated on this bracelet project, with proceeds from each Glowing Gone bracelet helping to aid coral reef preservation.
