Watch of the day (WOTD)

What's my wrist-wear choice for today?

My Flavor Of The Day

Stuhrling Original, Devilray Tourbillon - Bronze, Limited Edition

Wednesday finds me wearing one of the crown jewels within my collection, in the Stuhrling Original, Devilray Tourbillon - Bronze. There is so much to love about this timepiece. Aside from the Bronze / Brass case, and Romain Jerome design cues, and dial work surrounding the Tourbillon escapment, is nothing short of enchanting.

While there are those purist within watch hobby circles, that place Swiss timepieces in higher regards, my feeling is that watches originating from other areas of the world, give the collector a broader assortment of styles and price ranges to choose from. Such is the case with the Devilray. The movement is of Chinese origin, but that makes for a more affordable way for me, and a host of other watch collectors, to be able to experience the horological mechanics of a Tourbillon complication; and in no way detracts from my desire, to hopefully one day, own a Swiss-Made Tourbillon; actually enhances that desire even more.

The exotic, sharkskin strap is a wonderful finishing touch for this timepiece, but without a doubt, the Devilray Tourbillon could be a real strap monster, and will most likely be my next choice to mod. Until then, the Tiger's-Eye bracelet, will serve to complement and enhance this beautiful timepiece. IMHO, the right Tourbillon timepiece, enhances any Wrist-Game ten-fold!
