My Flavor Of The Day
Outside of the dive watch genre, pilot or aviator watches are my next favorite style. And for my Wednesday selection, the Parnis, Big Pilot Mechanical, satiates my desire to sport a classic Flieger look today.
The Parnis brand, is a nice representation of all that is good about affordable timepieces; offering a quality product, with looks and finish that rivals timepieces and brands priced much higher; sometimes many multiples of hundreds more.
Not only does this Parnis provide a high-end, Flieger look, but with most of their pricing sub $150, the brand represents some of the best bang-for-the-buck offered in the watch industry. The only knock on the brand, is that the majority of models offered, are homages, or styles heavily influenced by "famous" brand looks. But in reality, there is not much originality in the watch world, and the majority of designs created, come from other brand / model inspirations. And who doesn't want a nice look on the wrist, without breaking the bank?
Pairing the Big Pilot today, with a large-gauge, Tiger's-Eye stone bracelet, which offers an exceptional complement to the rich, dark tones of the timepiece.
