Watch of the day (WOTD)

What's my wrist-wear choice for today?

My Flavor Of The Day

Straton, Daily Driver Chronograph; a/k/a the Red Panda

For Saturday, I decided to go with the Straton, Daily Driver. I've affectionately dubbed this timepiece, the Red Panda, as a play on the famous Paul Newman, luxury chronograph. This timepiece has quickly become a regular within my wearing rotation. I think that Straton's choice to use burnt Orange coloring for the dial, as a backdrop to the white index markers, black sub-dials, and reverse date window, really gives this dial POP, but in a very subdued way.

As a racing chronograph, this timepiece exudes a racing feel. The Daily Driver originally shipped on a bracelet, but this dial look was just begging for the perfect rally racing strap to be added. For that reason, I opted to add a Straton, perforated, Rally Racing Strap, with color-matched, contrast stitching; IMO, the strap is the perfect finishing touch for this timepiece.

The round case design of the Daily Driver, is a bit of a departure from most of the previous Straton case designs that make up their current catalog of watches, which have more of a vintage, cushion look; but the style of the Daily Driver is classic, simple, and just plain works.

As traveling companion to the Daily Driver today, I've paired this beautiful racer with a color-complementary bracelet, custom-designed by Beads By Gonzo. This combo, sure to have my Wrist-Game capturing both the pole position and checkered flag!
