Thursday finds a new arrival on the wrist, and the last of my Black Friday, cyber week purchases for 2019. On the wrist is the Vanguard, Victorville Pilot. Don't know very much about this brand, other than they are based in California, with the watches manufactured in Germany. This timepiece was a recent Platinum Subscription offering through Watch Gang, and my initial impressions, this is a very solid timepiece.
I've definitely been on an Eastern European brand / Pilot watch binge lately, so add another timepiece to that group. The obvious draw to me was the Zenith-esque presentation of the hands on this timepiece. Another brand that has decided to used the muted sand colors on the dial, to illicit a more "military" look, and Vanguard's effort is well done.
I think the Vanguard will find a regular spot within my wearing rotation, but time will tell. Pairing this beautiful pilot, with a beaded bracelet, from Dorsal Bracelet Company, in color SoHo, a perfect complement to the Brown and Sand colors within the dial.
