My Flavor Of The Day
Saturday finds me selecting a timepiece that is both my least worn timepiece, and arguably the most unique timepiece within my collection, in the Ag-Gre-Gate, Masonic, in Black.
Many brands strive to achieve the desirable, clean look, that a true minimalist dial affords. And most watch collectors, and even those not WIS, would probably agree that one brand, Movado, is the most recognizable, minimalist watch design in the world. So, it wasn't enough for Ag-Gre-Gate to just come up with another clean dial alternative, but rather, decided to incorporate design-build materials that are rarely used in the creation of a timepiece.
The dial and case of the Masonic, are comprised of a concrete-composite material; a fairly durable case construction, with each watch having natural dial imperfections that are unique to each piece. The result, a deep dish, hockey puck design, that is still extremely wearable, with a dial that is about as clean as it gets. The only detraction for me is the leather band, which is a little flimsy in design; the integrated strap design, will also make replacing it very challenging.
