Watch of the day (WOTD)

What's my wrist-wear choice for today?

My Flavor Of The Day

WOTD wrist-shot of the Alpina, Startimer Chronograph. Paired with a beaded bracelet, in color SoHo, designed by Dorsal Bracelet Co.
Alpina, Startimer Chronograph

Decided on another Pilot as my Sunday WOTD, in the Alpina, Startimer Chronograph. The Alpina brand exhibits some of the highest quality, and attention to detail that I've come across, in any brand, at any price level. I've stated previously, it has quality that you can feel, immediately after removing the timepiece from the presentation box. Other brands tout Swiss lineage and heritage, most of which is contrived, and can't be verified, but the Geneve stamping, on the dial of the Alpina brand, really speaks to the fine quality, and fit-and-finish, poured into their timepieces.

I've stated before, the Sand and Khaki colors, tend to be best done by the IWC brand, but Alpina is giving IWC a run for their money with this Sand / Khaki / Brown, color scheme. The Vanguard, Victorville Pilot, I wore yesterday, sported similar colors, so Sand and Khaki in the Pilot genre, is proving to be a sexy color alternative, to the standard White on Black Pilot dial color configuration.

In a similar way to the Vanguard, Alpina opted to use a lighter color strap for the Startimer Chronograph, albeit in a more color-matched Sand color, as opposed to Gray. The Startimer strap, is a hybrid textile material, feeling like a mix of Kevlar and Sailcloth.

For my accessory pairing, the SoHo bracelet, designed by Dorsal Bracelet Company, gets the call again. As the color hue within the stones, matches the Sand and Brown tones within the dial, perfectly.
